Russian "It" Girl - Miroslava Duma

They don't call her the Russian "It" Girl for nothing. Mira Duma is the editor for Harper's Bazzar (Russia), as well as a writer for numerous publications and magazines. Her style is funky, but super cute! I love how she can mix it up - preppy, urban, edgy - and still have her own signature style. Check out some of her outfit choices below.

Rachel Zoe Collection - Pre-Fall 2012

Oh wow - it has been a long time since I last blogged. Sorry! It has been crazy busy in my world lately. But I'm going to try and catch up on my blogging.

For today's post, I wanted to oogle over the Rachel Zoe Pre-Fall 2012 Collection. I am so glad this stylist turned to design. Her gorgeous pieces give me inspiration and creativity. This collection is a mix of gold, black, maxi, leather, sequins, fur and whatever else fashion-wise you can think of. Oh, and buttons, lots of buttons! I love the way every outfit is styled - it is the RZ collection afterall - styling is what she does best. Below are some of my favorite looks.

 

 

Trend Alert–Faux Fur Vests

I love this trend and I especially love to see how fashion forward gals mix it up. Of course, my favorite look is Rachel Zoe’s – that’s exactly how I would wear that fur vest. This trend can be paired with just about anything and still look fabulous. Just remember, because of the bulkiness in this outerwear, make sure to keep your bottoms slim with skinny jeans, leggings, or a fitted dress with tights. You have to keep the proportions balanced! .

Zara - Dress Like a Princess

Duchess Kate Middleton recently stepped out wearing something all of us can afford. The lace tulip dress Kate wore to a charity event is from Zara and will only put you back $99. Unfortunately, the dress is sold out online (probably thanks to Kate’s endorsement). I love how she paired it with all black – tights, pumps, jacket and clutch. Exactly how I’ve been wearing my dresses this season. This royal lady knows how to dress, even on a budget.

Lust List – Celine Luggage Tote

The Celine Luggage Tote has been on my lust list for a while now. This perfect tote bag had been sported by celebrities of all ranks – from Reese Witherspoon to Kourntey Kardashian. The bag is the perfect trendy design – minimal and classic. It can be worn to the office and then taken out into the town. Top retailers, including Saks Fifth and Nieman Marcus, have said this bag is their top performer. With graduation coming up – I may have to take the plunge….. The only problem is (like Chanel) this bag can’t be bought online and our local stores don’t carry it. I wonder if I can find it in our neighboring city – SF. Will be putting a trip to the city on the calendar.

Versace for H&M

Versace for H&M hits stores on November 19th, but you can see previews of the items on the H&M website. To tell you honestly, I’m not that in love. Some of the pieces are cute. I really like the hot pink dress – it would be perfect for a special occasion. However, the prices are what throw me off. I know, I know – it’s Versace, but its also H&M. Maybe when they hit the sales racks…. What do you think – will you be adding these items onto your Christmas lists?

Fashion Fail – Christina Aguilera

This girl has been pulling a lot of fashion no-no’s lately and this is no exception. The singer stepped out wearing some underwear over tights with a long leather jacket and a baseball cap. I have no words for this….none…. What is going on with this girl – such an amazing talent. I thinks she’s losing it.

Celeb Style – Fall Fedora

The fedora of the summer has passed and a new hat has taken its place – the fall fedora. The wider brim hat has been sported by many celebrities. Here, the fabulous Rosie Huntington models the lovely fall fedora, accessorized with a ribbon and feather. As always, Rosie’s style is impeccable, even with a more casual outfit. Her look reminds me just how much I need to get some leather leggings. Haven’t been able to find any lately….any suggestions?

Trend Alert – Mixed Prints

I am in love with this new trend.To tell you honestly, I didn’t think I would really like it, but after seeing it on and trying out the look for myself, it’s a breath of fresh air after the many years of matchy-matchy style that we’ve had. This trend allows for personal creativity and lets the “fun” shine through. Also, I am enjoying all the leopard print that is being used with this trend. How do you feel about this look?

    

Celeb Style – Rachel Zoe

I am not a fan of light-hued boots. But I have to admit – I am digging this look by Rachel Zoe. The celebrity stylist is pretty spot-on with her fashion and this is no exception. I love the mix of textures – suede boots, tweed jacket, simple tee. Plus, if you know me, you  know the neutral colors give it extra points in my book. Now, all I have to do is fine some over-the-knee boots. The boots Rachel has on are the perfect fit – snug, yet slouchy - and those are the most difficult to find. On a side note – how “sick” (in Rachel’s words) is that bag…. OMG – I die!

Get the Look

The current cold weather has reminded me of a fall must – layering. Sara Blomquist models the perfect layering look for the cooler season: cardigan, jacket, scarf. The look is and says “warm” without the sweatpants and hoodie. I’ve given some more affordable options of the model’s look, so you can start filling your fall wardrobe. You can also mix the look up with some darker hues: brown, black, etc.

Trend Alert – Pastels

I love the new color trend that is popping up all over the place. The hot pinks, bright oranges, bold reds are all being replaced by mint greens, sky blues and pale pinks….The colors look great as wardrobe pieces, accessories and my ultimate fav – shoes. I am dying to get a pair of the mint green pumps. These colors are perfect to spruce up the fall wardrobe. As the weather cools down, the colors are dimmed down, yet just as fabulous.

Leather & Maxi

Don’t push your maxi dresses/skirts to the back of the closet just yet. Although the weather will soon be too cold to wear your maxis on their own, celebrities have shown us how to move them into the fall season seamlessly. All you need is a leather jacket, which should already be a staple piece in your closet. The jacket can be pulled off with many looks and is just rough enough for the fall season. I love the contrast of the bright blue with the high collar and the leather that Rachel Zoe is wearing. Olivia Palermo styled the jacket with a lovely forest green skirt and a simple white tee for a perfect going out look. Looking forward to seeing some of you wear this look when the temperature goes down.

Last night, designer-clad celebrities stepped out in their best to celebrate the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards. I love watching these events, mostly just to see what everyone is wearing…Below are some of my Fashion Favorites from the night and also some of the Fashion Fails.
